    How will HALAR increase my ability to control any situation better?

    HALAR provides the element of surprise, using the stun mode allows officers to temporarily blind a suspect resulting in a distraction that prevents their next action.

  • How does HALAR work without causing permanent damage?

    HALAR uses 100% eye-safe LED technology and will not cause any eye-damage. The eye will blink as a reflex response to bright visible light.

    How is HALAR’s Optical Stun Mode different to a strobing white light?

    There are 4 reasons why a flashing Red/Green light is more effective than a strobing white light.

    1. The eye is most sensitive to Green light. Under daylight conditions, the average normal-sighted human eye is most sensitive at a wavelength of 555 nm, resulting in the fact that green light at this wavelength produces the impression of the highest “brightness” compared to light at other wavelengths. AT nighttime, the eye is most sensitive to 507 nm (greenish-blue).

    2. Exposing the eye to different colors, especially red and green, interferes with depth perception. This is the principle behind 3D glasses at movie theaters, which put red in front of one eye and blue in front of the other to get a 3D effect.

    3. Flashing colors interfere with the brain’s perception of objects. Sometimes called the “Kaleidoscope effect,” they slow down a person’s reaction time.

    4. The frequency of a flashing light can significantly increase the distraction and disorientation effects. A flashing light at the right frequency—neither too fast nor too slow—can be more disruptive than a steady light. For instance, flashing white light is more effective at causing disorientation than a steady light, and flashing different colored lights is even more distracting.

  • Does it have a holder?

    Yes, the holder is capable of attaching to a vest, belt, hat, etc.

    How long does it take to charge?

    It takes roughly 30 minutes to charge. It is recommended to charge it every night, between shifts to ensure you are fully prepared.

    How long does the charge last?

    Steady white light lasts for about 1 hour. Steady Green and Red and Stun Mode last for about 1 hour 15 minutes.

    Is it waterproof?

    Yes, it is IPX4 waterproof. The device is able to resist rain and repel splashing water from any angle.

    The Red and Green LED light allows to be seen during the day and is more recognizable compared to the standard white light.
